Guided Fraser River Fishing Adventures

Vedder River

One of the lower mainland’s most popular rivers, with walk-and-wade steelhead and wild Pacific salmon.

The Vedder is easily one of the most popular rivers on the lower mainland and one of the top-producing fisheries in British Columbia. Most of it is readily accessible by paved or gravel road, making it ideal for the unforgettable walk-and-wade trips that keep anglers coming back.

Winter steelhead start entering around late January, with the best fishing from mid-February to mid-May, and the river averages a return of more than 10,000 fish a year. Spectacular jumps and powerful runs make these magnificent fish a test of every angling skill against a backdrop of snow-covered peaks and classic pools.

Chinook enter the Vedder in late July, fit and ready to fight, followed by the remaining four salmon species running up the river and peaking in late October. Rainbow, cutthroat and Dolly Varden round out a river that offers year-round sport for fly and gear anglers alike.
