Fishing Report – Vancouver & Fraser Valley 06-13-13

Well the fishing here in the Chilliwack to Vancouver area has continued to keep us excited with many great opportunities.

The Upper Pitt River has been smoking hot this past 2 weeks and the Sea Run Dolly’s have been the biggest we have seen in many years. The river has stayed in primo shape and there are so many runs holding good numbers of fly crushing fish. We have also seen more Rainbows ...

Fishing Report – Vancouver & Fraser Valley 05-24-13

It has been a great few weeks of fishing even though the Fraser River was swelling for this time of the year. Hopefully this early freshet will allow the river to be a fair bit lower in July and we can get in a good bar fishing season for Chinook. The past 2 years we have riddled with high water flow right through to mid August and I have ...

Fishing Report – Vancouver & Fraser Valley 05-02-13

Fraser River Sturgeon fishing has been off the chain! The water has dirtied a bit and the water is slowly on the rise.  The forecast for the freshet (for now) seems to be a steady one.  This is great news, because it means there won’t be huge fluctuations in water levels that seem to throw the fish off.  It also means an already epic beginning to our year should continue.  Our ...

Fishing Report – Vancouver & Fraser Valley 04-04-13

The Fraser River sturgeon fishing has been outstanding and the weather has been perfect to hook up with these monsters. This winter and spring has been one of the best in recent memory.  The GRFA team has been out in full force getting our clients and friends out on the river for some days that they will not soon forget. Eulichan’s, Lamprey eel, and roe are what’s ...

Fishing Report – Vancouver & Fraser Valley 19-03-13

The Fraser River is fishing great these days for both Sturgeon and Cutthroat Trout, with the water still low and relatively clear this has been one of the most productive early springs we have seen in nearly a decade.  The water temperature could well be one of the contributing factors and or the mild temperatures but either way we really like great fishing days.  The Sturgeon fishing ...

Fishing Report – Vancouver & Fraser Valley 25-02-13

Had the opportunity to head out on the river on Sunday with my friend Kenny.  What a cosmic day on the water sturgeon fishing! We hit the water at 8:30am and weren’t expecting the day we we were in for! The first spot Kenny and I hit was one of my favorite holes on the Fraser River for winter time, but after an hour there was just no sign of river ...

Fraser River Sturgeon fishing is still producing and we are having some amazing days with clients and friends! Just ask Howard, and Brad who had an 11 fish day with commander and chief Dean at the helm. I was lucky to have the opportunity to tag along and take part in some of the frantic action that happened right from the anchor drop. There was a double header,

conservation tagging, and rods ...

The Fraser River Sturgeon fishing has slowed down a little in the past week and now mirrors to the weather conditions, time of year and water temperatures. That doesn’t mean that the fish aren’t there, it just means that you have to put in some effort to find them. Great River Team guide, Shawn and I went out and did a little filming which you can ...
