As the Fall season is fast approaching this means nothing less than absolutely epic Sturgeon fishing and Salmon fishing. Trips in the last have been catching lots of fish and everyone is leaving with Salmon for the BBQ and great photos to share with friends!!
The Chinook are still running through in good numbers and anglers are having the opportunity to wage battle the against the “King” Salmon. The average size is in the low 20s, but guests this week have got a few over the 30lb mark.
Beautiful Pink Salmon
The bi-annual Pink Salmon run is definitely here! Pinks are being targeted using various methods such as bottom bouncing or on the fly. With the rivers starting to have some good water clarity Bar Fishing has also been producing some great results. Bottom line there is record number of salmon in the system, which can only be considered an angler’s dream.
Sturgeon fishing has continued to improve this week as the Pink Salmon run has been moving in. All of our groups out this week saw an average of 5-8 “Freshwater Marlin” to the boats. Many awesome battles were had to haul against these massive creatures. With great direction from our crew at Great River Fishing Adventures we were able to successfully land numerous fish and would like to congratulate some of big catches of the week.
